thanks for all the feedback. Needles, I tried to make clear that McCoy was likely the winner based on his career achievements and near misses of winning the Heisman. Yes, he is my pick, but the article designed to predict the actual award.

Al that could go out the window next week when Nebraska DT Suh pins his ears back, but unlikely.

Needles : You are certainly entitled to your opinion, but in the real world you have no way to make your prediction without facts. Mark Ingram is a great player, but Colt possesses the most wins in NCAA history for a college quarterback. Even Tim Tebow as great as he is cannot match the record that McCoy has.

Correction: Texas Tech has 8 wins, Oklahoma has 7, Missouri has 8 wins, Oklahoma State has 9 wins, and UCF has 8 wins. That’s more than ONE team with 6 wins.

I’m pleased to see Colt get the recognition he deserves. It takes a special player with far more than just athletic talent to be the starting QB at a school like Texas. He means just as much to the ‘Horns and their fans as Tebow does to the Gators, and is also a stellar young man.

As far as Ingram goes, if he wasn’t playing for an unbeaten team, he wouldn’t even be mentioned. As of right now, he’s not even one of the top ten runners in the country according to NCAA.org. He only stands out for the Tide because their offense isn’t exactly breathtaking.

6 of the teams TX has played have more than 6 wins. 8 of 12 are bowl elligible… McCoy is the real deal. Ingram’s not even the best player on his team… Cody, Jones, and Richardson, have helped to clinch some wins. Without Cody’s FG block, Jones’s 79 TD Catch a few weeks ago, or Richardson’s performance last game… Alabama would be playing in the Cotton Bowl.

Colt is incredible. I’m a Stanford fan. We have a running back who is more deserving than Ingram. However, the award should go to Colt. He does everything well. Give Colt the Heisman.

Hey Needles, quit your whining … if you want to make that weak argument I’ll come back and say McCoy would have had twice the number of passing yards if he played in the SEC this year. So now that we’re past that, don’t fool yourself into thinking Colt will win the Heisman due to that one game. He’s been hitting big numbers under the radar all year .. go look for yourself. You also didn’t hear any excuses when Colt wasn’t 100% for the first half of the season but he still went out and got the job done … and only with a measly 70+% completion for the year … again. Ingram’s good, but Heisman worthy he is not. Let’s look at him next year if he gets closer to 1800+ yards and keeps winning.

Come On Needles, your perspective is as small as your nickname’s end point. I will enjoy watching TCU kick the crap out of overrated Bama. It will be two straight bowl losses on National television for the Tide. Again, check the body of work. McCoy is a stud. He deserves the award. I believe Mr. Tebow and the Gators have a KO punch waiting for Bama as well.

C’mon man! McCoy & the Horns played ONE team with more than six wins. Ingram decimated SEC defenses all season & has one bad game & suddenly you like McCoy? If Bama had played Texas’ schedule Ingram would’ve broken every rushing record they keep.
